Part. 1 - Private international law in transnational commercial relations: principles, conflict of laws rules and uniform substantial provisions stemming from national, international and EU sources of law on the discipline applicable to transnational commercial operations and relations amongst companies, through the study of cases and internal, foreign and supranational jurisprudence.
Part. 2 - Mechanisms for the solution of disputes in transnational commercial law: access to national courts, heads of jurisdiction and the regime applicable to the recognition of judgments under the uniform rules in the European area of justice in civil and commercial matters; international commercial arbitration administered by the main institutions (ICC, LCIA, CAM etc.) and the recognition of foreign awards.

The examination is oral. Students attending the course will have the possibility to take the exam at the very end of the course. The oral examination is always carried out by the course teacher together with another regular teacher (or with an at least three years' experienced reasearch fellow) and has a minimum duration of fifteen minutes. As for the exam reserved to the attending students, the course teacher pre-determines the criteria for the final exam, which shall take into account also the difficulty of the topics addressed.
