The course offers a literary, cultural, social and historical panorama of Sephardic culture. We will analyze the authors and the most significant works of the Sephardic literature written in Judeo-Spanish over the centuries, from the expulsion of the Jews from Spain (1492) to modernity, with particular attention to the production of the XX-XI centuries.
Through course attendance and individual study, students will acquire the tools to:
- Read and translate literary passages into Judeo-Spanish;
- Comment, contextualize and analyze the proposed literary texts;
- Know the historical, linguistic and literary dynamics of a little-known expression of Hispanic letters.
Frontal lessons in Spanish with the help of multimedia material; individual study of the books in the bibliography; study of the material in aulaweb. The course will be held in the first semester (6 CFU) remotely through the Teams and Aulaweb platforms, and in the second semester (9 CFU) in the traditional (presidential) mode, unless otherwise indicated, due to the evolution of the health situation.
