OVERVIEW

The course is divided into: a) theoretical course (Prof. Giorgia Rimondi); b) lectorate (practical language exercises): professors D. Kotelnikova and N.Osis.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Starting from a theoretical reflection on linguistic phenomena, the course aims to deepen the knowledge of Russian grammar, lexicon and syntax and to consolidate expressive skills. The course is divided into: a) theoretical module, b) grammar, c) comprehension and production of written texts, d) comprehension and production of oral texts.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course is aimed at consolidating and deepening students' grammatical and lexicon-grammatical knowledge of Russian language, as well as developing the ability of written and oral comprehension (with particular attention to orthoepia) concerning the Russian daily life.
The course aims to create a linguistic and cultural basis necessary to address the topics proposed in the third year of studies (Russian language III) and for professional scopes.

At the end of the course the student will be able to:

1. Produce the speech in Russian (written and oral) by talking about himself and comparing Italian and Russian everyday life (level A2).
2. Interact in Russian on the topics of daily life in Russia and in Italy.
3. Correctly produce the sounds and intonation of the Russian phrase by addressing the new lexicon-grammatical material.

At the end of the course the student has the mastery of:
1. Notions on Russian phonetics and phonology.
2. Notions on morphology and Russian syntax (level A2).
3. Basic vocabulary (level A2).

PREREQUISITES

The student must have mastery of Russian language level A1 (MT Russian Language I: writing, reading, understanding, speech production).

In particular, he must have the knowledge of:
Russian phonetics and phonology. Noun (gender, number, case: plural formation, singular declension: nominative, prepositive, accusative). Adjective (classification, singular declension: nominative, prepositive, accusative). Numeral (cardinal numerals). Adverb (classification). Pronoun (classification, declension of personal and possessive pronouns: nominative, prepositive, accusative). Verb (conjugation, verbal regency, verbal aspect, time (present, past, future), verbs in –sia, motion verbs without prefixes идти-ходить, ехать-ездить).

TEACHING METHODS

During the 1st semester: The theoretical course (MT, modulo teorico) will be held online on Teams and Aulaweb.

The practical course (lettorato) will be held online on Teams and Aulaweb in the first semester and in presence in the second semester, unless otherwise indicated.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

For all students (6/9 credits), attending and non-attending, Italian-speaking and Russian-speaking.

Russian phonetics and phonology. Writing (italics, block letters, use of Cyrillic keyboard). Noun (gender, number, meaning and use of cases with particular attention to temporal constructs). Adjective (classification, declension, long and short form, degrees of comparison). Numeral (classification, declination). Adverb (classification, degrees of comparison). Pronoun (classification, declension). Verb (tense, mode, verbal aspect, verbal regency, verbs in –ся, verbs of motion with and without prefixes).
Furthermore, the acquired grammatical knowledge, as well as the ability to correctly produce Russian sounds and intonation, to write in italics, in block capitals and to correctly use the Cyrillic keyboard will be checked

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Theoretical module (MT, Rimondi): written test (grammar test), duration 1 hour
Practical course (lettorato): written test (grammar test), duration 2 hours 

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The written test of the theoretical module aims to verify the acquisition of theoretical knowledge of Russian language (level A2) and to apply it in the proposed context.

The tests relating to the reader are aimed at verifying the ability to recognize forms studied during the 2 year and to know how to use them.
