Contemporary theatre in Portugal: language and translation.
Attending this Course, the student will acheive and apply skills of
- reading and understanding about Portuguese language and literarture;
- making personal judgements about different ways of writing a short story.
The student will also achieve learning skills of translation.
The objective of this course is to engage the students in the translation of dramatic portuguese texts. Translations problems will be analyzed in order to re-create togheter an effective italian text.
- Basic knowledge of Portuguese language.
- Reading aloud, comprehension exercises and linguistic games;
- translation of selected theatrical works;
- Vision of films and interviews.
- Portuguese contemporary theatre in translation: strategies and practice.
- All the texts will be distributed during the lessons, so students are kindly invited to participate.
