The course intends to give the students the essential skills for the comprehension and the analysis of texts related to the fields of politics and economics, as well enable the development of the their oral communication within these fields. It also aims at consolidating the knowledge of the grammatical structures of Arabic as well as the lexis used for special purposes, through the reading of articles and the listening of audiovisual materials.
Frontal lectures, seminars and practicals.
The course comprises the translation of texts from Arabic into Italian and vice versa and reflection on the translation techniques. Audiovisual material, extracts from newspapers and magazines and short texts prepared by the lecturer will be used.

Oral examination: the examination will be held in Arabic and will test the student’s oral ability, their comprehension and production on general and specialised topics covered during the course.
The student will be asked to read, translate and analyse extracts from texts covered during the course.
