OVERVIEW

The course aims at presenting an overview of the most relevant theoretical and methodological approaches to the investigation of human behaviour concerning emotional experiences and motivational drives.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims at providing an updated survey about the research concerning psychology of emotions and motivation, particularly focusing on practical domains like helping relationship, motivational counselling at school and on the workplace.

By the end of the course student should be able to

  • know the main theoretical and methodological approaches to the investigation of emotion and motivation
  • identify the distinctive elements of each approach, with its strengths and limitations

PREREQUISITES

Basic knowledge of topics such as emotions and motivation.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Written test with open-ended questions (essay type questions).

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The written test will provide an objective assessment and will evaluate students’ ability to write coherent, sound, and clear essays on topics related to emotion and motivation.
