Specific aims are the acquisition of basic knowledge about aetiology and pathogenesis of diseases, including physical and chemical causes of cell and tissue injury; neoplastic transformation and tumor classification (general oncology); responses to tissue damage: inflammation and healing.
At the end of the course, students will have gained knowledge about the different mechanims of response to cell/tissue injury and the differences among these mechanisms on the basis of aetiological factor/s and tissue type.
Oral presentations supported by Powerpoint slides. Students are stronlgy encouraged to use a reference book to consolidate their knowledge.
