The subject of the module includes the main propulsion system and the auxiliary systems of a ship. Passenger ships, merchant ships, work boats and naval vessels are included.
The student will have an overall picture of Design principles of ship propulsion plants, ship auxiliary plants and ship safety plants.
Design principles of propulsion systems for different ship types (cargo, passenger, military, offshore).
Design principles of main auxiliary systems (cooling, exhaust, fuel feed, etc).
Design principles of main safety systems (bilge, fire fighting).
