Operations Research is a discipline included in the class of decision science and management science; therefore, in addition to the basic notions of this subject, the course provides professional skills related to Problem Solving and Decision Making in the area of transport of goods and people.
The aim of the course is to give students the basics of operations research, which are most relevant to the strategic and operational planning of enterprises. Particular emphasis will be given to the field of logistics and transport. The course is aimed at developing optimization models for decision making problems. Main topics: • Overview of the operation research modeling approach • Linear programming and the Simplex method • Duality theory and sensitivity analysis • Network optimization models • Inventory management and supply chain
