It is developed with theoretical and practical lessons. The topics of the course are listed as follows. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course consists of lectures and individual trainings in laboratory, aims to provide a basic understanding about the methods for the pre-treatment and the quantitative determination of compounds with medicinal use. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The course allows to acquire theoretical and practical information regarding the main methods of quantitative analysis of drugs such as volumetric analysis, in particular in the areas of acid-base, complexometric, redox and precipitation titrations. Sample pretreatment and drug determination methods include instrumental analysis such as gas chromatography and HPLC. The laboratory activities concern the dosage of drugs and purification techniques of the sample. TEACHING METHODS The course is developed with theoretical and practical lessons. The frontal teaching could be also carried out remotely in telematic mode due to the health emergency by COVID19. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Theoretical topics Guidelines on laboratory safety and chemical use Introduction to the quantitative determination of compounds registered in FU XII Ed. and FE VIII Ed. Classification and selection of analitycal methods. Chemical, apparatus and methods for the quantitative determination of compounds with medicinal uses. Calculation used in pharmaceutical analysis.
