The exam for the first part is aimed to verify the knowledge of the theoric bases of digital signal processing. The exam for the second part is aimed to verify the the ability to use the tools for software design (e.g. Matlab) and for the simulation and design of numerical filters (FIR and IIR) and for spectral estimation schemes based on the DFT/FFT. For the first part there are written and oral exams. The second part exam includes a multiple choice and answer test aimed at verifying the student's understanding of theoretical topics carried out during the second semester with Prof. Lavagetto. In addition it student will also have to carry out a practical test on Matlab in which he will be asked to solve practical problems on real signals (eg voice signal) through signal processing algorithms (Prof. Sciarrone). ASSESSMENT METHODS For the first part, the written exam asks the student to solve problems related to the theory of discrete time analysis and signal processing. During the oral exam the students must demonstrate that they know how solve exercises (simpler than thr written ones) and know how answer theoretical questions. Both for the part of Prof. Lavagetto and of Prof. Sciarrone the students will have to demonstrate knowledge of the topics covered in class by solving theoretical (on paper) and practical (via Matlab) problems. The second semester exam is passed if the average WITHOUT ROUNDING of the theoretical part (Prof. Lavagetto) and Matlab (Prof Sciarrone) is greater than or equal to 17.
