OVERVIEW

The course, divided in a general part and in three monographic sections (two for students who take the course for 6 credits), aims to deepen the study of the authors and texts of Italian literature of the last century, focusing in particular on some fundamental junctions. It will offer a reading of the texts examined, which will be accompanied by philological and bibliographical information and which will not neglect the opening to problems and historical-critical questions and the multiple connections to the publishing world.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Analysis of modern Italian literature (poetry, narrative prose, essays) both in relation to texts and critical methodology as well as a pondered historiographical setting. Broadening the critical perspective to take account of parallel experiences and experiments in the terrain of music and visual arts

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to achieve the following educational objectives: 1) knowledge of the evolution of Italian literary history of the last century, with particular attention to the fundamental junctions examined; 2) understanding of the mechanisms that regulate the "literary field", ie how a single work is placed with respect to the historical, critical and editorial context; 3) ability to analyze the interaction that is triggered between the literary text and the surrounding society, and how the former is a consequence of the second, but also represents an attempt to modify it.

At the end of the course the student is expected to have achieved the following results: 1) adequate knowledge of contemporary Italian literature; 2) a capacity for oral expression appropriate to the subject matter, with mastery of an appropriate vocabulary; 3) ability to analyze literary text; 4) ability to understand the interaction between literary text, social context and editorial.
