The course includes the presentation of:
literature of the seventeenth century (by genres, with particular attention to the theater), of the eighteenth century (with particular attention to the works of the Enlightenment), of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, (with a focus on major authors and movements)
The course aims to provide students of Literature with a good knowledge of the history of French literature from the Enlightenment to the end of the twentieth century, with anthological readings in front of text and particular attention to historical and artistic dynamics, as well as to theoretical positions.
The teaching is part of the training course, providing the basis for a comparative reflection of literary history in relation to the history and history of art, through fundamental knowledge for the relationship links.
At the end of the course the student:
1) knows the general lines of literary history,
2) is able to recognize the works of the great authors of French literature
4) knows how to relate the works with the historical era,
5) can distinguish the characteristics of the great literary movements.
6) can define the characteristics of the great literary movements.
The student should have a general geographical vision and history of Europe, should also have a standard level of knowledge of Italian and basic notions of Italian literature DIDACTIC MODES
Lectures, face to face or remotely on Team's (with access code), based on the indications that will be given. Part of the course will be the result of independent study.
The teaching includes a course of lectures with analysis and reflections on poetry from Mallarmé to Valéry. Students will prepare the most important elements of French literature on their own:
The 17th century theater (Corneille Molière Racine)
The era of the Lumières (Montesquieu, Voltaire, Diderot, Rousseau)
The great nineteenth-century authors: Victor Hugo, Vigny, Chateaubriand, Lamartine, Stendhal, Balzac, Baudelaire, Flaubert, Verlaine, Rimbaud, Maupassant, Zola, Huysmans
