CODE 80292 ACADEMIC YEAR 2021/2022 CREDITS 6 cfu anno 2 INGEGNERIA GESTIONALE 8734 (LM-31) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR ING-INF/04 LANGUAGE Italian (English on demand) TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 2° Semester TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The course deals with methodologies for optimization and control of dynamical systems AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course provides the main modelling and methodological tools to state and solve optimization and control problems for the management and industry engineering context. At the end of the course, the students will be able to determine the control strategies for a large class of problems and to implement these strategies with specific software. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course, the student will be able: to analyse the main characteristics of a dynamic system to know the most relevant control methodologies for dynamic systems to design controllers on the basis of prerequisites and desired performance indexes to implement these controllers with suitable software PREREQUISITES The main prerequisites are related to Systems Theory and Operations Research TEACHING METHODS Lessons and team working activities with specific software SYLLABUS/CONTENT Introduction to dinamic systems Continuous-time dynamic systems: state-space representation, model classification, properties Discrete-time dynamic systems: state-space representation, model classification, properties State feedback with measurable and non measurable state, PID regulators Continuous-time optimal control: Hamilton-Jacobi theory, LQ problem Discrete-time optimal control: dynamic programming, LQ problem Model Predictive Control RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY P.
