Italian linguistics is the scientific study of the Italian language (mainly, but not only, contemporary), its dialects and the languages of ethnolinguistic minorities.
Italian linguistics deals with the structures of language, uses and functions of the language, with reference to the model of geographical, social, situational and communicative varieties.

- learning of the architecture of the varieties of contemporary Italian - learning of the distinctive traits of each Italian variety - development of the ability to analyze written and oral productions in Italian in a variational perspective
First semester: Frontal lessons or On line lessons on Microsoft Teams and Aulaweb (36 hours).
Second Semester: Frontal lesson (if possible) and Classroom exercises (18 hours).

Multiple choice test (if it's possible). Oral examination.
The course is annual. The first exam session of the course will take place in June 2022. At the end of the first semester, students can take an intermediate test on the topics of the first part of the course. Thus, in the summer exams, students complete the examination by preparing only the part relating to the second semester.
I semester: multiple choice test.
II semester: oral examination
Those who do not take the test at the end of the first semester will take the exam orally in the scheduled appointments starting in June 2022, taking the entire course programme.
Those who take the intermediate test at the end of the first semester will complete the examination orally from June 2022, taking only the course syllabus for the second semester.
In the second semester, attending students will be able to carry out exercises that will be evaluated for the final grade.
EUROPEAN MOBILITY students can take the Italian Linguistics (9 CFU) exam only if they have "Linguistica italiana" (Italian Linguistics, Linguistique italienne, Italienische Sprachwissenschaft) in their Learning Agreement and if they stay in Italy for two semesters: the course is annual.
