During the lectures will explain the concept of Archive and will be describing the access mode to the sources AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course has as its main objectives to provide students with the main tools of the historian understood as preparatory skills to develop a critical awareness in the field of historical disciplines, with a social and cultural perspective AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Attendance and active participation in the proposed training activities and individual study will allow the student to acquire adequate knowledge regarding the main tools of the historian, understood as preparatory skills to develop a critical awareness in the context of historical disciplines, with a social and cultural perspective TEACHING METHODS The teaching consists of lectures for a total of 36 hours. The use of multimedia supports is foreseen. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The teaching will develop starting from the concept of history and the meaning attributed to the history and work of the historian. Particular attention will be given to the theories and methodologies related to historical studies, (in particular regarding the contemporary age), to the typology and use of historical sources, both quantitative and qualitative, their causal presence and non-randomness on the territory and the methods of treatment and analysis RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY Study plan for attending students is: G. The exam is exclusively oral for non-attending students (ie for those who have not attended at least 75% of the lessons). ASSESSMENT METHODS Further details and clarifications on how to prepare for the exam will be provided during the lessons. The written document for attending students and the oral interview for non-attending students have the task of verifying that the student has understood how to elaborate the historical discourse in historiography and in the context of the public use of history through the various media.
