Operative comprehension of the integration between mechanics and measurements for automatic control. Comprehension of the peculiarities and experience in the use of a Real Time Measurement system for mechatronics control. Design and programming of the RT control code integration sensors and actuators. Design of the proper testing procedures for the final device.
The course purpose is to introduce the student to mechatronic design and development including mechanics measurements and control. The course is based on lectures, to introduce methods and techniques, and experimentation. The main goal is the development of a mechatronics device that requires custom mechanics, designed and 3D printed also, custom electronics and control system programming. Final competences will be:
Functional design of a mechatronics device with integration of mechanics measurements and control
Programming of a complete control code for a mechatronic device including advanced systems such as RT systems and FPGA
Design of testing protocols and their application to the realized device, with critical evaluation of the results.
Lectures integrated with experimental activities in the Lab carried out in small students groups under instructor guide.
