OVERVIEW

SCIENZE FISIOTERAPICHE IN ORTOPEDIA E REUMATOLOGIA

The module SCIENZE FISIOTERAPICHE IN ORTOPEDIA E REUMATOLOGIA based on the scientific evidence on the musculoskeletal pathologies, aims to develop the knowledge and the practical skills necessary to conduct a proper evaluation and to set a physiotherapy treatment program. The student will be able to: recognize the signs and symptoms, formulate objectives and treatment plan; evaluate the results in patients with deseases of the musculoskeletal system.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

AIMS AND CONTENTS

At the end of the course and after a suitable period of study taking into account the scientific evidence, the student will be able to acquire the theoretical knowledge and the practical skills necessary to conduct a proper assessment and set a specific program of physiotherapy treatment in patients suffering from diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

The goal is to be able to plan rehabilitation interventions and evidence-based strategies: from the guidelines to the implementation of diagnostic and therapeutic care pathways (PDTA) and protocols.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course the student will be able to:

  1. search for signs and symptoms in patients with disorders of the musculoskeletal system;

  2. formulate objectives and program the treatment plan;

  3. designing rehabilitation interventions and evidence-based strategies: from Guidelines to the implementation of diagnostic and therapeutic care (PDTA) protocols;

  4. evaluate the results obtained.

TEACHING METHODS

Lectures (20 hours).

Lectures are performed in all the teaching location by owners teachers and are explained with slides and videos. The Students/Teachers percentage report allows a direct comparison and an use of collaborative methodology, discussion about rehabilitation and working groups.

RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY

The slides used during lessons and other educational documents (such as tutorials, electronic documents) will be provided by teachers; teachers can also suggest books, articles and scientific journals.

Usually, the notes taken during lessons and the material provided by teachers are sufficient for the preparation of the exam.

It's suggested as a text book to support: S. Brent Brotzman "Riabilitazione in ortopedia e traumatologia" UTET

Also other academic books (published in the last 5 years) can be suitable.
