    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    Sociology is the study of the social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. This course offers a general introduction to sociology, with the aim to understand and apply key sociological concepts and social theories. The primary objective of this course is to awaken students’ sociological imagination, by helping them to see how social forces and social environments affect human behaviors in multiple and complex ways. Beginning with an examination of core sociological ideas on how societies are organized and the inherent strengths and problems within different social arrangements, the class then explores these sociological principles through concrete studies .

    AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

    1) Know the fundamental sociological concepts

    2) Know the main sociological theories

    3) Know the different fields of study of sociology

    4) Knowing how to apply sociological concepts and theories to the analysis of social reality in different fields

    At the end of the course the student knows the sociological concepts and theories, the different fields of study of sociology and is able to apply the sociological concepts and theories to the analysis of social reality in these fields.

    TEACHING METHODS

    Lectures, presentation and critical discussion of case studies, eventually working group with TBL method.

Work, production and consumption. XIV. Politics and administration. XV. Population and organization of the territory.

    ASSESSMENT METHODS

    Through the written test the teacher verifies the student's acquisition of the fundamental concepts dealt with during the course, the ability to relate them to each other, the mastery of notions and technical language.
