OVERVIEW

The “Altre attività” (other activities) allow students to broaden their horizon and integrate the acquisition of additional knowledge and skills into disciplinary learning, useful for training and for entering the world of work. Students of all curricula must carry out the activities in the first and / or second year.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The different types of Other activities (recognized according to the art. Recognition for other activities) aim to make the student acquire knowledge, skills and abilities concerning the use of IT tools, the written and oral expression in a foreign language, the insertion in an occupational context, the ability to synthesize and analyze, to manage complex relationships and problem solving.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Depending on the student’s free choice, participation in Further activities will allow:

• to acquire transversal and broad knowledge with respect to the training course (participation in conferences, seminars, etc.)
• to acquire extra-curricular skills and competences (participation in workshops, excavation campaigns, school trips)
• to acquire skills and abilities in the field of foreign languages.
• to acquire skills in the IT field.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The CdS recognizes the following activities:

• Laboratories that have been activated by the Department or are recognized by the Course and are listed on the CdS website;
• University exams taken in Italian or foreign universities in linguistic or IT disciplines, as long as they are not already used for the purposes of the study plan in case of transition from another location or Faculty. The exams must be taken during the enrollment period for the course of study.
• Erasmus or Cinda stays: 2 ECTS for 12 ECTS acquired abroad, 3 ECTS for 18 ECTS acquired abroad, regardless of length of stay.
• Period of study abroad for purposes other than the Erasmus + program, for a maximum of 3 ECTS, as determined by the commission on a case-by-case basis.
• Internships and traineeships approved by the Course and the Department for a total of three non-divisible CFUs earned in 75 hours. The criterion also applies to activities similar to internships and traineeships that take place as part of international mobility programs.
• Certification of language skills beginning at level B1, issued by UniGe-accredited bodies or a suitable public and/or private institution in Italy or abroad, with certification of successful completion of the relevant verification. For a total of three non-divisible credits (note: the certification used for the language assessment test cannot be reused for the credits of other activities).
• Participation in scientific initiatives (conferences, congresses, seminars, training courses, and so on) subject to the following conditions: 1) The activity must have previously been approved by the course of study; 2) the presence of a signature sheet registering your participation for the duration of the conference or seminar; 3) preparation of an articulated and detailed report on the work of the conference or seminar, which will be followed and supervised by the proposing teacher (where required).
• Post-secondary diplomas issued by university or para-university institutes and by public bodies, certificates of courses of the same type (3 CFU not divisible) with proof of passing of the relative verification.
• Civil Service certified and performed at legally recognized institutions (at least one year, for three CFU) and deemed relevant to the Degree Course by the Commission.
• Work activity that is relevant to the curriculum and lasts at least a year, as determined by the Other Credits Commission.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The student must submit to the Further Credits Commission, at least three months before the thesis discussion, the documentation attesting the skills acquired and / or the activities carried out and their duration. The student must also declare that they have not previously used the activity carried out to request the attribution of CFU.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

A commission of professors appointed by the Degree Course will assess the congruence and correspondence in credits of the certified training activity.
The Commission in charge of the recognition of other credits is composed of:

FURTHER INFORMATION

Credits relating to other activities can be included, at the student's discretion, in the 1st or 2nd year study plan. Credits can only be recorded on condition that the corresponding code has been entered in the study plan.
