From the margin. The text and the favela
The course aims at a cultural-historical incursion into the universe of urban discomfort, the margin and the hegemony-subalternity relationship starting from the favela/communidade place in Brazil and develops through three discourses: the first, sociological in character; the second literary (with a history of the so-called 'literatura marginal'); the third textual (with an analysis of language and forms in some novels, poems, graphic novels and audiovisuals).
Lectures and seminars in italian and portuguese. Attendance is heartily recommended. Students who are unable to attend will have to study some supplementary material

The course aims to refine cultural competences related to the Brazilian context and to deepen the reflection on the society of the Latin American country with particular attention to the urban, peripheral and discomfort (favela) discourse. In particular, the history of the literature of the margin will be a place to interpret issues of power.
