The subject of the first module includes reliability, availability maintainability and safety of marine systems. The subject of the second module includes main propulsion systems design and control. During the Ship Propulsion Plants module the operating principles of marine propulsion for different types of ships will be presented, with particular attention to the aspects related to dynamics and control. Both the theoretical / methodological and practical aspects will be illustrated, with particular emphasis on advanced design and numerical / implementation aspects
The students will be able to understand RAMS studies or to produce RAMS studies in marine related topics.
The students will be able to understand propulsion studies or to produce propulsion studies for all common vessel types.
Knowledge of static methods for the design of marine propulsion. Basic knowledge of the principles of naval architecture. Principles of programming.
