Attendance to the course and individual study will allow the student to:
Know the main types of orthoses and prostheses on the market, evaluating their mechanisms of action and indications
Identify and propose the most suitable aids and orthoses in relation to disability and their correct use
Introduce principles of Occupational Therapy
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
Know aids, orthoses and prostheses
Identify and manage orthotic aids and prostheses in relation to the rehabilitation project
Know the rehabilitation potential offered by Occupational Therapy and evaluate a possible indication according to the pathology-problem
Number 10 hours of frontal lessons on the different topics of the program using slides.
Students with SLD, disability or other special educational needs certification are strongly encouraged to contact the teachers at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching methods that, respecting the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory instruments

I semester, III year
The exam will be conducted orally with at least two questions on the topics included in the program
The exam will assess the quality of the exposure through the use of the correct specialist vocabulary and will investigate the student's clinical reasoning skills in relation to the topics covered and the knowledge acquired.
Students with SLD or other regularly certified special educational needs will be able to agree on written or oral modalities with the teacher, by contacting the teachers at least 10 days before the exam. They can also take advantage of 30% additional time.
When a student is a certified LSD, it is required to contact the Referring Teacher of the DISABILITY and DSA Commission for DINOGMI: Prof. N. Girtler (nicolagirtler@unige.it ) and evaluated the single case, he will send to the teachers the necessary directions both for lessons development and for modality of examination
