A cognitive approach has highlighted new ways to understand the problems of function-thinking and the mechanisms of adaptation, thus widening the objectives also of communicative dynamics that regulate the relationship between the disabled person and the context he/she lives in. In this context the Rehabilitation process can be seen as a learning and relearning process, able to stimulate adaptive resources in relation to the development process.
To provide the students the main Knowledges concerning the rehabilitative specificities of the main psychopatological outlines of the child and of the teenager with reference to the international guidelines and to the specific rehabilitative techniques for the evolutionary age and to know the basis in order to develop some abilities of planning, carrying out and evaluating some detailed interventions and particular rehabilitation therapies.
The teaching will provide some frontal lessons of 10 hours altogether and by the screening of slides and films.
To acquire the general principles of the taking in charge in Neuropsychiatry and of the importance of the integrated treatment and of group work. To know the main diagnostic criteria and apply the concerning methods of observation and valuation. To know the basic elements for the realization of rehabilitation courses of the main outlines of Neuropsychiatry of childhood and adolescence ,with particular reference to the disturbs of the neurological development of the autistic spectrum and of the behaviour . To know the basis of the therapeutic rehabilitation plan and to outline the basic principles of the multidisciplinary management. To understand the importance of the involvement of the family and the network.

purpose is to evaluate and assess whether the student has reached an appropriate degree of knowledge
on the subject and also a good ability in expressing his/her personal and critical opinion on the topics.
The student is expected to show an expertise in the topics by using appropriate and specific words to
define the method of the treatment, the techniques and the tools explained in the lessons throughout the
course. The student’s ability to express ideas, opinions and communicative skills will be highly valued and
will be regarded as very important.
