The final exam involves the composition of a written paper, which will consist of an in-depth study on a scientific research topic consistent with the candidate's preparation and the purposes of the Study Program, and in the subsequent oral discussion of the paper.
Aim of the final exam is the acquisition by students of the ability to orient themselves in the main bibliographic repertoires of the archaeological field and to deal critically, and with the use of appropriate methodologies and tools, the analysis study of archaeological materials and contexts. Students will learn how to produce an original written paper on a theme consistent with the topics addressed by the degree course, they will be able to structure it according to the methods of organization and formatting of scientific texts in the archaeological field and also to clearly explain and debate its contents.

The possible addition of honors to the final grade of 110/110 is granted by the Commission only with reference to the evaluation of the dissertation. The degree exam is passed if the final mark is not less than 66/110.
