The course aims to provide specific knowledge in the field of Clinical Microbiology, evaluating, in particular, the etiopathogenetic mechanisms and diagnostic approaches in the field of Human Medicine.
The integrated course of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology is divided into 3 modules, extending over the first semester: Elements of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology, Microbiology Techniques, Applied Microbiology Techniques.
Acquire theoretical knowledge in bacteriology, virology, parasitology and theoretical-practical knowledge of the main laboratory techniques for the identification of pathogens through bacteriological (direct and culture), serological, immunometric, virological investigations. Acquire notions on antibacterials and drug resistance. The final examination consists of an oral test and covers the syllabus given during the lectures.
Verification of learning is carried out through the oral exam, aimed at verifying the real acquisition by the student of the expected learning outcomes.
In order to pass the exam the student will have to demonstrate a good knowledge of the etiological basis and the pathogenic mechanisms of diseases I humans and the ability to analyze the technical aspects of possible diagnostic approaches;
The following items will contribute to the final mark:
- ability to critically discuss the requested topics;
- accuracy, clarity, synthesis and fluency;
- competence in the subject;
- speaking ability and correct use of terminology.
