The course explores the economic rationale behind international trade. Lectures will explore the models that explain the advantages and disadvantages of trade between nations and the economic policy tools that support national trade policies.
The course explores the theoretical models underlying international trade, the variables that determine its development and the policies that influence it. The theoretical study is complemented by empirical application with particular reference to the Italiam economic system.
Students will achieve a good understanding of the mechanisms that regulate international trade. Furthermore, the course provides the elements for a critical reading and interpretation of national trade policies and the reasons why individual states favour or restrict foreign trade.
The students' participation in the case studies will allow them to work on advanced level alphabetical-functional competence, which will be recognised through open badges upon passing the final examination.
