The internship path of the first year of the course includes 375 hours of student activity in laboratories of hospitals or local health authorities affiliated throughout the region with the University of Genoa in basic sectors of laboratory medicine in order to acquire the first skills and have a first approach to the purely practical activity envisaged by the Biomedical Laboratory Technician profile. The anthropology of health has the objective of making known the connection between the concepts of health, environment and care by combining the medical-biological needs with the numerous cultural solicitations that act before and during the disease. The acquisition of an "anthropological gaze" also allows us to give due consideration to the non-biological determinants of the disease. Provide basic psychological knowledge related to the relationship between healthcare professional, patient and patient's family. Starting from interpersonal relationships, the main theories relating to language, verbal and non-verbal, and its use in the communicative field are proposed, underlining the dangers associated with the dissonances between communicative intention and effective communication with particular attention to the operator-patient and operator- family members; provide a summary of the distinctive characteristics of the sociological gaze, to then apply it to the relationships between the various players in the health system. It proposes the main approaches through which health and disease have been studied and the relationship between health professionals, patients and health facilities. It then explores the theme of communication and its relations with the healthcare organization that produces health.
