The course aims to introduce the main topics that define the welfare policies based on an analysis of social transformations underway in contemporary society. The primary aims are to provide the tools necessary to understand the social and political context. Starting from the analysis of the dynamic characteristics of social change, the course will focus on the main concepts that define the architecture of contemporary welfare systems (in particular about the local and national characteristics).
The main objective is to provide basic knowledge regarding the architecture of contemporary welfare state systems, with particular attention to the specificities of the Italian case. At the same time, some of the main dynamics (demographic, economic, etc.) that define the framework within which social protection systems are situated will be addressed.
