OVERVIEW

The Oncology Course, within the Gynecological Surgery CI, includes teaching the clinical approach to the oncological patient with particular reference to neoplasms of the female genital system and breast neoplasia.

AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

-Identification of the most appropriate diagnostic pathways in patients with suspected malignant neoplasia.-Define the stage of the neoplasia, both clinically and pathologically.-Understand the clinical and instrumental characteristics of breast neoplasia and the possible therapeutic implications.-Understand the clinical and instrumental characteristics of the main gynecological neoplasias (endometrium, cervix, ovary) and the possible therapeutic implications.-Understand the issues related to the diagnosis of neoplasia during pregnancy and define possible diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in this context.-Understand the issues related to fertility preservation during oncological treatments and define possible procedures to propose to the patient.

Multiple-choice questions, where each correct answer will correspond to one point. The exam will allow for the verification of knowledge of the main neoplasms covered in the lessons, as well as the issues related to the relationship between fertility/oncological therapy and cancer/pregnancy.
