In particular, the course will focus on renewable energy law, environmental sustainability and ecological transition. Starting from the reference regulatory framework, the teaching aims to provide the cognitive tools of a regulatory nature essential to this particular area of public policies linked both to environmental law and to the development of the national energy sector. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Knowledge of the relevant regulatory and jurisprudential framework regarding Renewable Energy Sources, ecological transition, and related new technologies. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Individual study, participation in lectures, and engagement in the proposed learning activities will enable students to: identify and apply the main legal provisions related to environmental matters, new technologies, and other related areas of administrative law; describe and analyze key institutions and case studies in the field; independently discuss and critically assess the topics covered; express themselves using appropriate legal and technical language regarding the course topics, demonstrating command of the specialized terminology of administrative law; develop the ability to read and interpret decisions of administrative courts. PREREQUISITES Please refer to the Department website for information regarding the required prerequisites. Students are expected to have a good knowledge of Administrative Law I. TEACHING METHODS The course will be delivered through lectures, with reference to case law and doctrinal analysis. Seminar sessions may also be held during the course. Students with valid certifications for Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), disabilities or other educational needs are invited to contact the teacher and the Department's disability liaison officer at the beginning of the course to agree on any teaching methods that, in accordance with the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning styles. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The course will address the following topics: - Energy and sustainable development: the national and EU reference regulatory framework. - Institutions and levels of regulation. Administrative organization profiles. - The electricity sector. The natural gas sector. - The promotion of renewable sources and energy efficiency. - Type of RES and reference legislation. - RES and ecological transition. - The Administrative Judge, the Water Judge and sustainable development. RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY The teacher will indicate in class the didactic material of interest. Any written tests serving as exemptions will be agreed upon with the professor. ASSESSMENT METHODS Students will be asked to answer multiple open-ended questions requiring reasoned responses, covering each part of the course. Assessment criteria: Appropriateness of the legal terminology used; Consistency of the answers with the learning objectives and expected learning outcomes.
