This course deals with the issues of Project Management with particular attention to the case of Industrial Plant Projects
The course includes both lectures, classroom experiences, simulations and role plays conducted with industry experts
At the end the student acquires the ability to become a proactive and valuable element of a Project Team on Industrial Plant Projects
The Course material is available in Italian and English on www.itim.unige.it/pm
The course aims to provide a significant background to EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction about the job manage) Project Managers starting from the overall definition of the methodology based on international standards (PMI/IPMA) and focusing to bidding phase with associated economic risks evaluation (contingencies). The student will learn to achieve an optimized management of the project ranging from the construction phase, to the suppliers selection and qualification up to the final commissioning according to corporate policies. The proposed models, which use the Monte Carlo simulation, Design of Experiments and other appropriate business tools, will enable students to acquire the skills needed to deal with the difficulties arising from acting in stochastic regime.
The course does not create project managers, obviously, but transfers to trainee the whole competences for supportin PM (Project Management) by effective methodologies in order to become a valid Team member and to work on the development of Industrial Plant Projects.

The entire course is available in Italian and English and the language used in the lessons is based on the request of the students and the audience; all documentation including exercises guided by self-assessment agents are online at www.itim.unige.it/pm
The experiences in the classroom are both individual and group, both in cooperative and competitive ways and face real problems ranging from the proposal of plants, to the cooperative planning between engineering, purchasing, building site and installations, to the competition between teams that manage projects EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction).
