AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course provides an overview of emerging technologies — including neural interfaces, smart materials, nanoparticles, robotics, and TMS, MEG— with promising applications in biomedicine and rehabilitation. The module is carried out in collaboration with colleagues from the Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering (DIBRIS) and researchers from the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT).

TEACHING METHODS

Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, shall reach out to the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liase and arrange the specific teaching methods and ensure proper achievement of the learning aims and outcomes.

2D and 3D models for the study of brain development and activity

Brain-Machine Interface in pre-clinical medicine

Optogenetic techniques to interrogate neuronal circuits

Bioengineer in the field of clinical medicine

Augmented sensorimotor virtual reality in neurorehabilitation 

Human prosthesis in rehabilitation
