The course provides information ranging from carcinogenesis, epidemiology, and risk factors to an overview of diagnosis, staging, and integrated therapies in a structured and updated program.
The course also includes a session dedicated to Evidence-Based Practice in order to acquire basic knowledge on how to formulate clinical questions that can be answered with the innovative tools available on the Internet.
The expected learning outcomes will assess how the student will be able to recognize an oncological problem, apply the relevant guidelines to the situation, critically evaluate the various therapeutic options, understand an oncological treatment process, and know the universally recognized risk factors. Particular emphasis will be placed on the phases of the oncological process in which laboratory and instrumental activities (e.g., radiological) play a critical role.
Passing the exam is subject to meeting the minimum requirements.
Lectures and discussions on specific questions using the most well-known information tools. Students with certification of Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), disability, or other special educational needs are invited to contact the instructors at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching methods that, while respecting the learning objectives, take into account individual learning styles and provide suitable compensatory tools.
