Seminars and initiatives providing ECTS are learning activities offered by the Department of Political and International Sciences as part of the “Other Activities” to beincluded in the study plan. At the beginning of each academic year, the Department publishes on its website a list of activities related to each seminar so that eachstudent can choose which seminar activities to include in his/her study plan for a total of 3 ECTS. These 3 ECTS can be reached by combining seminars from thesame or different disciplines at the total discretion of the student. In addition, seminars and initiatives providing ECTS may also be chosen as “Student ChoiceActivities”. This seminar Jean Monnet, "Lexicon for the Republic: The Republic, Italy, and Europe. A Film Review", provide 2 ECTS.
The Jean Monnet seminars and initiatives in History and Politics of European Integration aim to provide students with specialist knowledge on current European issues, sufficient for the presentation of individual papers. The list of seminars and initiatives that allow access to ECT in History of European Integration scheduled for this academic year is available on the Department website.
The Jean Monnet Seminar, for the academic year 2025-2026, through a multidisciplinary training program, intends to improve young people's ability to learn new skills.
The Jean Monnet Seminar for the 2025-2026 academic year focuses on the theme: "Lexicon for the Republic: The Republic, Italy, and Europe. A Film Review" 12 hours - 2 CFU.
In particular, students will acquire further skills relating to communication in written form (through the creation of group reports) and in mixed form (through the drafting of a final joint statement which can be conveyed in written form or through video footage), giving evidence of critical thinking and effective use of the information acquired during the Seminar.
All participants will acquire Open Badges for the disciplinary and transversal skills acquired:

The teaching method of the Seminar will be communicated to students one month before the start of the Seminar itself.

At the end of the Seminar, the students will be asked to prepare a paper on the topics covered during the Seminar itself.
The assessment is based on knowledge of the subject, expository ability and critical-interpretative ability.
Furthermore, for the purpose of acquiring the Open Badges, clarity of presentation, ability to effectively summarize, organization of the presentation and ability to use the notions learned during the seminar activity will be assessed.
Students with “Special Needs”: the compensatory/dispensative tools recognized by the Department coordinator, Prof. Aristide Canepa, and by the University Service for students with special needs are applied. It is suggested to contact by Prof. Canepa and the lecturers of this course at the beginning of the lectures.
