OVERVIEW

The objective of the course is to equip students with analytical tools to navigate the complex anthropological and spatial dynamics that characterize the contemporary world. Particular attention will be given to developing knowledge and critical awareness regarding themes such as cultural hybridity, climate change, and the forms of human mobility driven by environmental transformations.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Active participation in the proposed training activities (lectures and seminars) will allow you to:
- understand the dynamics of globalization,
- identify the contradictions of development policies,
- know and know how to interpret the main demographic indicators,
- know the salient features of the history of the world population;
- know the economic, social, environmental and cultural factors and processes underlying migratory phenomena and the forms they have taken over time;
- to know the persistence of migratory phenomena.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

FOR ANTHROPOLOGY OF MESTIZO CULTURE AND GLOBALIZATION

The exam will assess the effective acquisition of basic knowledge and will allow for the evaluation of the student's ability to analyze the topics covered.

FOR CLIMATE CHANGE AND HUMAN MOBILITY

  • EXAM MODALITIES FOR ATTENDING STUDENTS

Who have completed and presented the group project and presented individually the text agreed upon with the instructors: the exam is considered passed without the need for any further assessment.

Who have completed and presented the group project: the exam consists of at least three questions covering the entire program, based on the materials presented in class by the instructors and on at least three of the scientific articles uploaded to AulaWeb at the beginning of the course.

Who have not presented the text agreed upon with the instructors: the exam consists of at least three questions covering the entire program, based on the materials presented in class by the instructors and on one of the two textbooks indicated during the course by the instructors.

  • EXAM MODALITIES FOR NON-ATTENDING STUDENTS

The oral exam covers all parts of the program and requires the study of the textbook(s) and all materials uploaded to AulaWeb, as specified in the section TEXTS/BIBLIOGRAPHY (NON-ATTENDING STUDENTS). It will consist of at least three questions.

Please note that attending at least 50% of the lessons allows students to take the exam following the attending student program.

 

ASSESSMENT METHODS

FOR ANTHROPOLOGY OF MESTIZO CULTURE AND GLOBALIZATION

The following criteria will serve as parameters for evaluation:

  • The quality of the presentation;
  • The correct use of specialized vocabulary;
  • The ability for critical analysis;
  • The originality of reasoning;
  • The mastery of the topics covered during the lessons.

 

FOR CLIMATE CHANGE AND HUMAN MOBILITY

The oral presentation will be used to assess:

  • the mastery and depth of knowledge acquired;
  • the ability to apply the skills developed.

The evaluation criteria include:

  • the quality of the presentation;
  • the correct use of appropriate terminology;
  • accurate knowledge of the topics covered.

Students who complete group projects will also be assessed on the quality of the written report, in terms of both content and formal aspects
