The anatomy and histology course is part of an integrated course that includes two teaching modules: histology and human anatomy. The course objective is to provide the basis for the study and understanding of the human body and its functioning and the basis for understanding the fundamental mechanisms for studying and understanding motor skills.
Understanding the body's structural organization with its main anatomical-functional applications; to recognize the essential morphological characteristics of the systems, apparatus and organs of the human body as well as their principal morpho-functional correlates.
The specific training objectives of the Anatomy and Histology course are to provide the basic preparation for the study of the human body and its structures, their relationship within the body, their function, and in particular the function, structure, movement relative to the locomotor apparatus.
General knowledge of chemistry and biology.
Frontal lessons.
Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, should contact the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liaise and arrange the specific teaching methods so that the learning aims and outcomes may be met.
