The teaching of marine electrical systems aims to consolidate the skills of the naval engineers students in an application context of the knowledge of electrical engineering. Training proposals are proposed on the sizing methods of the on-board electrical system, proceeding from the definition of the most appropriate configuration in compliance with the normative dictates to the study of the electrical balance and concluding with the choice of protection devices.
The design principles of the on-board electrical systems are illustrated, with particular attention to the choice of the scheme, the voltage levels, cable sizing and the choice of protection systems.
The aim of the course is to introduce the student to the basic problems related to the operation and design of the electrical systems on board. The object of the study consists of a representation of the main components of the electrical systems and their sizing with specific reference to the naval sector.
There are no specific requirements.
Theoretical lessons and exercise (5 hours per week).
Students with valid certifications for Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs), disabilities or other educational needs are invited to contact the teacher and the School's contact person for disability at the beginning of teaching to agree on possible teaching arrangements that, while respecting the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning patterns.
