CODE 110998 ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026 CREDITS 3 cfu anno 3 SCIENZE E TECNICHE PSICOLOGICHE 8751 (L-24) - GENOVA LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The TPV is designed to provide a hands-on learning environment that integrates theoretical knowledge of psychometric tools, specific to the discipline of psychology, with critical reflections derived from their application and from the collaborative resolution of issues related to their use. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES a) activity carried out individually or in small groups, with the goal of learning methods, tools and procedures relevant to a practical psychological context b) practical work, workshops, simulation, role play, project writing, carried out individually or in groups involving tools, methods, and procedures geared to the development of knowledge necessary to operate in the contexts in which psychologists intervene. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The activities planned within the TPV aim to enable students to acquire specific knowledge and competences related to the context of use, administration, and scoring of some of the principal tests of typical and maximal performance. Students will develop knowledge concerning the selection of appropriate tests based on situational demands, as well as competences in retrieving essential information from test manuals for administration, scoring, interpretation of results, and feedback. PREREQUISITES Participation in the TPV is open to students enrolled in the third year of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Psychological Sciences and Techniques. During the TPV, students will apply prior knowledge acquired throughout their studies, particularly in the courses of General Psychology, Psychometrics, and Clinical Psychology. TEACHING METHODS The TPV focuses on practical learning approaches. Students will participate in individual, paired, and small-group exercises. The opportunity to present final work within the larger group will enhance the learning experience and promote reflective discussion. Practical exercises will concern the administration of various types of tests and the analysis of clinical cases. Theoretical information will be provided to complement practical activities through interactive teaching methods, including the use of administration videos, branching scenarios, and role-playing exercises. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The TPV combines in-person sessions with distance learning and independent study activities delivered through the Aulaweb platform. During in-person sessions, the instructor will present the tests under study; in some cases, students will engage in self- and/or peer-administration of the instruments and perform test scoring. The main topics covered will include: Psychometric properties of tests Tests of typical performance Tests of maximal performance Test administration procedures Scoring and profiling Feedback and clinical case discussions During individual study and distance group work, students will be organized into virtual groups of approximately 5–6 members. They will have the opportunity to discuss the characteristics and specificity of the tests used, the difficulties encountered, and their potential areas of application. RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY Study materials will be provided by the instructor during the sessions and made available through the Aulaweb platform. International students are encouraged to contact the instructor to obtain supplementary materials in English. Recommended readings for further study: Boncori, L. (2006). I test in psicologia.
