OVERVIEW

The course aims to cover some key aspects of private law from the perspective of agri-food law. In particular, consumer protection, producer liability, and contractual relationships within the agri-food supply chain will be the main topics covered.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of the module is to provide students with the fundamental knowledge of private law necessary for understanding certain civil law aspects of agri-food law (in particular, in relation to contracts and civil liability).

The first part of the module will be mainly theoretical (with the aim of conveying some fundamental concepts of private law). The second part of the module will be mainly practical and applied (with the aim of introducing some significant case studies of the concepts learned).

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The specific objective of the module is to provide students with a basic understanding of private law, enabling them to understand and, at least in part, independently use (within their future professional field) certain regulatory and legal instruments, as well as certain reasoning techniques, of Italian private law.

Part of the module will be more theoretical (i.e., focused on learning concepts and notions), while another part will be practical and operational (i.e., focused on applied knowledge), analyzing a limited and selected number of cases.
