TEACHING METHODS Independent work on project/experiment/model; Regular meetings with the academic supervisor; Possible lab work, technical site visits, or external collaborations. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The Thesis represents an individual technical and scientific research activity on a topic related to Environmental Engineering. The activity includes: Defining the thesis topic in agreement with the supervisor; Literature and/or regulatory review; Collection and analysis of experimental, field, or bibliographic data; Development of models, projects, analyses, or simulations; Writing the thesis according to the degree program's guidelines; Oral defence of the thesis during the graduation session. The Committee for the final examination is composed of at least five members, the majority of whom must be tenured professors and researchers, and adjunct professors, President included, and it is appointed by the Director of the DICCA Department. ASSESSMENT METHODS The Committee assesses the final examination by attributing an increase, varying from 0 to 6 (maximum established by the School in agreement with the Departments and indicated in the Degree Programme Table), to the weighted average (with no approximations) of the marks obtained in the examination tests relating to the educational activities that require a final mark, taking as a weight the number of credits associated with the individual educational activity. Among the aspects that contribute to the definition of the mark attributed to the final examination, the Committee shall take in particular account of the quality, completeness, and originality of the thesis; the presentation of the thesis; the evaluation of the student’s academic record (e.g., honors grades, participation in student representative roles, duration of studies); any period spent abroad (earning at least 12 ECTS credits or drafting the thesis, or a substantial part of it, during that period). Honours are awarded, subject to the unanimous approval of the Committee, to students who have obtained a final mark of at least 110 points. The dignity of printing for the master's thesis may be requested by the supervisor from the members of the Degree Committee at least 15 days before the graduation session, explaining the reasons. The dignity of printing is awarded by unanimous vote of the Graduation Committee.
