AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES To acquire the fundamental concepts and methodologies of physics and biophysics that are useful for understanding biomedical phenomena and the physical principles underlying various diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. To provide basic tools for learning how to model complex physical phenomena. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Understanding how the physiology of different parts of the body responds to the fundamental principles of physics. Ability to apply simplified physical models to predict certain physiological quantities and how they are altered in the presence of anatomical dysfunctions, particular environmental conditions, or harmful practices. Understanding the physical principles underlying certain diagnostic investigations. Ability to correlate the results of clinical measurements with physical parameters that govern the proper functioning of internal systems. Understanding the physical principles behind the operation of certain medical devices. As specified in Article 4, paragraph 6, of Legislative Decree No. 71 of May 15, 2025, regarding the educational offering of the filter semester, the regulations concerning the assessment of required knowledge (Additional Educational Obligations, OFA) for access to degree programs do not apply. TEACHING METHODS In-person lectures, with the option to attend remotely. Attendance is mandatory and will be monitored through the Easy Academy platform provided by the University. The exams take place on the same day and at the same time in all universities offering the filter semester. Students register for the exam through the platforms provided by their respective universities and take the exams at the locations designated by the university where they attended the filter semester. The exam procedures are described in Annex 2 of Ministerial Decree 418/2025. ASSESSMENT METHODS The methods for assessing the knowledge acquired are described in Annex 2 of Ministerial Decree 418/2025. FURTHER INFORMATION Attendance at in-person lectures is mandatory.
