AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The objective of the course is to provide the theoretical knowledge and operational tools to address and resolve estimation issues related to building restoration costs and construction site economic planning.

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

1. identify appropriate methodologies for cost estimating a restoration project in relation to the design phase.

2. correctly apply the methodologies for cost estimating a restoration project.

3. prepare the Technical-Economic Framework (TEF) for a restoration project.

TEACHING METHODS

The course consists of lectures and an exercise (BQ) for a total of 32 hours.
At the end of the activity, students must submit the exercise (BQ and TEF) in order to take the final exam.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The course program covers the following topics:

- Meaning of evaluation and appraisal

- Values of historical and architectural assets - methodologies for estimating their value

- Types of costs in construction: construction cost - production cost - overall cost

- Cost estimation methodologies related to the project development phase: synthetic and analytical (Bill of quantities - BQ)

- The estimate requests defined by the Procurement Code (Legislative Decree n. 36/2023)

- The Technical-Economic Framework (TEF) of a restoration project.

EXERCISE

Students will work in groups to develop an analytical estimate of the cost of carrying out the restoration project they are studying in the second year of the Specialization School through a BQ. Students will also develop the Technical-Economic Framework (TEF) to quantify the total cost of the project.
