    AIMS AND CONTENT

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    The aim of this University Course is to give an idea of Italian literary tradition, from its origins to the actual days, with a particular eye to the different cultural typologies, interpretation of texts and contexts (musical, artistic, historical), and principally to the relationship with other foreign cultural systems.

    Particular attention must be given to the development of the skill in written expression (summary; report; etc) and in the interpretation of the various themes - having always in mind the relationship between Italian and foreign literary culture.

    part for the written exam:

    1.           txts - philology - metric - rhetoric - I generi letterari – Literary production center  –  How Italian potetics grew and flourished in the course of time, cfr: V. Magrelli, Millennium poetry (il Mulino) (home reading partly) (12 hours).

    2.            L’Europa di Dante: inferno XXIX – Purgatorio VI, VII, XX – Paradiso VI – 12 hours

    3.            L’Europa di Alfieri: Vita – 12 hours (home reading partly)

    4.  The Europe of the contemporary Italian novel

    Home reading of five novels chosen by te students: Svevo, Senilità - Primo Levi, Se questo è un uomo – Brin, Olga a Belgrado –- Calvino, Il barone rampante - Tomasi, Il Gattopardo - Fenoglio, Una questione privata - Soldati, Lo smeraldo –  Rumiz, Trans Europa Express.

    5. The prose of Sbarbaro :Trucioli 1941 e Autoritratto (involontario) di Elena Vivante (15 hours).

    6. Meeting with a contemporary writer: Destini minori di Marco Ercolani (3 hours).
