AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The major objective is to achieve the basis of Human Anatomy necessary to understand physiology, with the final goal to comprehend drug mechanism of action and related toxicity.

Attention will be given to the human body organization and to the morphology of different systems and organs. The structure of the various organs will be studied at microscopic level to provide understanding of their function.

TEACHING METHODS

The teaching activity is organized in lectures for a total amount of time of 80 hours. During these lectures, all issues of the Human Anatomy that the student is required to know for the final exam will be explained and discussed with the help of visual aids.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The written test consists of 49 questions on all issues taught during the Human Anatomy course. Each questions is provided with four possible answers. Only exact answers are taken into account. Maximum allowed time for the test: 1 hour. At least 25 (out of 49) answers must be exact to be accepted for the next step, namely the oral exam.

During the oral exam, carried out by the lecturer of the Human Anatomy course in conjunction with a colleague working in the same field, 2/3 questions will be asked.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The student is expected to have knowledge and understanding of the spatial organization, morphology and structure of organs and systems of the human body, with particular regard to morpho-functional aspects. The student’s communication skills with respect to Human Anatomy issues taught during the Course will also be assessed.
