AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The goal of this course is to expose students to the scientific method and good clinical practice (GCP), and to introduce concepts of medical statistics, scientific writing and dissemination of scientific results. Learning outcomes include the ability to read and discuss the scientific literature, participate to the scientific debate, and design and conduct a clinical study.

• The scientific method, including motivation, history and examples;
• Clinical research protocols and study designs;
• Concepts of medical statistics;
• Data presentation and interpretation;
• The good clinical practice (GCP);
