AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

To know the history and evolution of psychiatric and rehabilitative thought. To know the basic methodological elements of epidemiology and its applications in psychiatry in the clinical and rehabilitative scope. To learn the principles and methods of psychiatric rehabilitation, definition, objectives, main scientific evidence and intervention models to acquire the theoretical and methodological knowledge of the rehabilitator. To know the basics of the operative models of the psychiatric rehabilitation technician, of the projectuality, of the team work and of the professional deontology.

 

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The module aims to get the student to acquire:

  • knowledge on theoretical contributions of the main authors and on the practices based on scientific evidence in psychiatric rehabilitation
  • initial effective communication skills and appropriate technical / scientific language
  • independent and critical reflexive study skills

At the end of the course the student will be able to:

  • To know the contents related to the concept of recovery and empowerment to start the ability to support and encourage users towards health choices and recovery processes, reinforcing coping skills, self-esteem and enhancing available resources
  • To know the issues related to the stigma and the social disability, in order to be able to work with the families and the social context of the subjects in the future, in order to fight them and favor their reintegration into the community with the highest level of social integration possible
  • To know for the evaluation of psychic disability and psychosocial discomfort and for the interpretation of outcomes the value of standardized instruments (evaluation scales, interviews, questionnaires)
  • To interpret the results of psychiatric research to rehabilitation practice and link resear

TEACHING METHODS

Lectures, with spaces for comparison and active teaching with students. Slide support. Students will be invited to independently research through PubMed relevant and recently published scientific articles concerning the contents of the lessons

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Oral interview. The contents expressed in the lectures and / or in the exam text indicated above will be examined. At least two or three questions will be asked, with the possibility of giving others if the student does not answer correctly and in an exhaustive way to the first ones.

Evaluation in thirtieths, with weighted average between the disciplines of the integrated course (ie Teaching)

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The degree of knowledge of the contents concerning the module will be evaluated. We will also assess the ability to critically approach the acquired knowledge and the integration between the same, as well as the ability to talk and correctly present their scientific knowledge, with appropriate technical language.

The assessment will focus on the topics covered during the lectures and will have the purpose of assessing whether the student has reached an adequate level of theoretical knowledge; if it has acquired the ability to integrate the theoretical knowledge acquired with those related to the professional profile of belonging, according to a perspective of complexity; if he has reached sufficient verbal communication skills aimed at passing information, also in reference to the mastery of the scientific terminology proper to psychiatric and psychosocial rehabilitation .
