The laboratory consists of 25 hours of individual and/or group study and has the dual objectives of consolidating students’ English skills and helping them prepare for the Lingua Inglese (base) (66937) course.
Individual study using grammar websites in order to allow students to acquire and improve basic language skills and express themselves in authentic English.
The specific aims and learning outcomes vary depending on your starting level (see below).
Subject to any other instructions issued by the university authorities, in the 2022/2023 academic year the laboratory will be taught entirely in the classroom.
Assessment test as part of SEF entrance exam or during the first lesson. Students who do not reach A2 level will attend the lessons and do classwork. Those who attain A2 or better will still attend lessons in the faculty but will work individually, doing exercises consistent with their level as assessed. There will be 3 groups, each with a different timetable (2 hours a week per group); details of the timetable and group subdivision will be announced in due course on Aulaweb.
Specific measures will be available for people with special needs (SEN students, worker students who don’t attend lessons, etc.). For further information, email the teacher at justinrosenberg@libero.it
There is no set text as this laboratory entails the use of language websites. However, false beginners and others with particular problems in English are advised to purchase the following book of grammar rules and exercises: Raymond Murphy, “Essential Grammar in Use”, Cambridge University Press (available online – e.g. Amazon.it ).
Office hours: After lessons or by appointment via aulaweb and email
Office hours: At the end of each lesson or by appointment on Teams or by writing to justinrosenberg@libero.it
