CODE 64901 ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023 CREDITS 9 cfu anno 1 LETTERE 8457 (L-10) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR L-FIL-LET/10 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The course introduces students to the study of the main authors and the most important written works, poetics and cultural movements in the history of Italian literature. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The general objective is to reinforce students’ basic preparation and ability to write correctly; learning historiographical outlines of Italian literature; knowledge of introductory philological-textual elements to the study of texts; understanding and analysis-commenting of literary texts with particular reference to genres. Particular attention will be paid to the methods of teaching. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to impart the following knowledge, skills and competencies: - knowledge of the evolution of Italian literature, its authors and fundamental written works with particular attention to relations with national and international history and culture; - reading methods and critical-scientific interpretation of Italian literature, knowing how to use fundamental bibliographical tools and the most common on-line supports; - ability to recognise, in a personal way, the value of an Italian literary text in the context of the author’s poetics and within a historical, artistic and cultural context; - ability to clearly explain the contents learned and the texts analysed employing critical language. A study of the italian literature history and antohology is required, from XIIIth to XVIIth c.. It is required the full reading of Dante Alighieri, Inferno e Purgatorio 1. "Musica and Spettacolo" Curriculum: Italian literature history and texts from XIVth to XIXth c. (selected chapters from textbook in Bibliography) Dante Alighieri, Inferno (15 cantos including I, IV, V, VI, VIII, X, XIII, XV, XXXIII, XXXIV), Purgatorio (15 cantos including I, II, VI, IX, X, XI, XII, XVI, XVIII, XIX, XXIV, XXVI, XXVII). 2. Examination concerning the part 1 (on textbook and Dante, without cantos in part 2 will be ruled by partial exams during the first semester. They are structured in quiz with closed or open answers, open book assignemnt, annotation to textsIt is mandatoru begin to study at the very beginning of the semester. Examination related to part 2 is structured in a oral interview, including reading and annotations of some chosen texts. Examination related the part 3 is an oral interview based on some "ottave" from Tasso's Gerusalemme liberata. ASSESSMENT METHODS Part 1: partial exams will value students' ability to involve themselves into the new course and new methologies concerning italian literature in an academic level. They'll value annotation skills and the knowledge about texbook. It's possible to settle exams from the second month of the course. Part 2 and 3: oral examination will value students' ability in annotate texts analyzing style and language. Fot that paraphtase is requested.
