    OVERVIEW

    The Integrated Course of Clinical Pathology I and Medical Technical Sciences is the first course of the first year CDS characterizing the profession of Biomedical Laboratory Technician. Students, after having followed the lessons common to all the study courses of the health professions, in the integrated course will have the first approach on Laboratory Medicine and its fundamental bases, in order to have knowledge that will allow them to understand the subjects dealt with. in subsequent years of the Course.

    AIMS AND CONTENT

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    Acquire basic notions on analysis laboratories, organization and knowledge of the specificities in the various branches of the laboratory; acquire in-depth knowledge on the components of the blood, the function of the marrow and the maturation processes of the different blood cell lines, with the related associated pathologies; acquisition of techniques, the execution and reporting of blood counts and the search for pathological Hb variants; acquisition of skills on primary and secondary haemostasis, coagulation factors, related diseases and laboratory tests associated with the assessment of haemostasis; acquisition of quality bases and verification of the reliability of laboratory results, calibrations and quality controls, hints of spectrophotometry and colorimetric reactions, errors in the laboratory and the phases of the analytical process; urinalysis and health legislation; management and treatment of blood bags in immunohematology; cardiac markers, acid base balance, blood gas analysis, immunosuppressive drugs and emergency / emergency toxicological tests.
